Roy Hodgson gives verdict on Chelsea playing on after Gary Cahill pulled up injured - 'Can you expect him to stop? I don't think so'
The Eagles defender, formerly of Chelsea, suffered terrible timing when his hamstring went during a foot race with Blues winger Willian in the opening five minutes.
Willian subsequently picked out Olivier Giroud for a simple opening goal, and some Palace players appeared angry that the visitors decided to play on rather than put the ball out of play.
Most pundits were agreed that Willian was right to continue and Palace boss Hodgson, too, had no complaints.
He told talkSPORT: "It wasn't a head injury so the rules of the game would say no, it should continue.
"Can you expect a player to suddenly stop and turn on his heel? I don't think so."
