Maldini's top 10 future stars: Part one
E uropean football is saturated with young emerging talent.
While some names have already been grabbing headlines and being linked with big moves this summer, there are some other who may have gone a little more unnoticed.
Julio Maldonado, known simply as 'Maldini', has chosen his top 10 players under the age of 23.
The first five, from 10 to six, are as follows:
10. Florentino Luis - Benfica - Midfielder - 20 years old
Since Joao Felix left for Atletico Madrid, Florentino has become the shining jewel at Benfica.
He intercepts, is technically strong and is at his best defensively.
9. Myron Boadu - AZ Alkmaar - Forward - 19 years old
His 14 goals with AZ show that he could be the No.9 the Netherlands are calling out for.
Boadu scores goals, but he can also play as a winger or a No.10.
8. Gabriel Martinelli - Arsenal - Forward - 18 years old
The Brazilian has shown Arsenal enough that they know he can be trusted.
Martinelli 's a forward but with the ability to drop in deep and he's proven that in the Europa League, but he'll be hoping to erupt at the Tokyo Games.
7. Daniel James - Manchester United - Forward - 22 years old
The Welshman already has 24 Premier League starts to his name and he's a talented right-footed player.
James can play as a second striker and is already important for Wales thanks to his pace and shooting.
6. Mason Greenwood - Manchester United - Forward 18 years old
He has a slight edge on James as he's younger and a more complete player.
Greenwood 's scored five times in four starts and has a very impressive left foot.
