Everton flop Andy van der Meyde blasts David Moyes for being 'cold and Scottish' during stint at Goodison Park
Then-Toffees boss Moyes took the plunge to sign the Dutchman for £8million from Inter in 2005 but the move turned out to be a disaster for both parties.
The forward's spell was hampered by injuries and off-field problems and he left four years later, having made only 24 appearances.
Van der Meyde has been highly critical of his time with the Merseysiders, predominantly pointing the finger of blame at Moyes, who is currently in charge of West Ham.
"In England, it's full stadiums, people in Liverpool live only for football," he said on Instagram live, as relayed by Football Station.
"Football and beer, that was their secret. Everton was a good team, [Mikel] Arteta was already super, even [Tim] Cahill was decisive.
"I had problems that you all know, Moyes did not speak to me; with him cold and Scottish the relationship never took off.

"In my opinion, he's an overrated technician; they sent him away from Manchester United after only one miserable season."
Moyes left Everton in 2013 to become the Red Devils manager but was sacked just 10 months into his six-year contract.
He has since taken charge of Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham, with the Scot currently in his second reign as manager of the east Londoners.
Former Everton winger Andy van der Meyde has blasted David Moyes for being 'cold and Scottish' and an 'overrated technician' during his time at Goodison Park.
