Bournemouth have kept just two Premier League clean sheets at the Vitality Stadium this season.
Chelsea have conceded in all but one of their Premier League away games, scoring in 11 of the 13 games too.
Chelsea have scored 2.07 goals and conceded 1.7 goals per away game in the Premier League this season.
Cherries look to home form to save them from the drop
It was another humbling afternoon for Bournemouth fans last weekend as they were subjected to a crushing 3-0 defeat at the hands of the resurgent Burnley, further intensifying their growing survival concerns.
The Cherries are now 16th in the table, just two points clear of 18th placed West Ham and coming into this game having won just two of their last 10 Premier League outings.
However, the situation does look slightly more positive at the Vitality Stadium. They have won their last two matches there, albeit against Brighton and Aston Villa, and have only lost four of their last 11 Premier League games there. They have also picked up points against the likes of Arsenal, Man Utd, and Everton in front of their own fans this season, which is promising for this hosting of Chelsea.
Humbling midweek defeat brings Chelsea down to earth
Bournemouth aren’t the only team coming into this game on the back of a reality check. Chelsea were utterly outplayed at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, losing the first leg of their Champions League tie 3-0 against Bayern Munich and all but eliminating them from the competition.
The Blues aren’t having the smoothest ride domestically either. They may have beaten Spurs last weekend, but they have still only won two of their last seven Premier League games and currently sit just three points above Manchester United in the race for the top four.
Dodgy defences the story of Saturday
Away from home it’s a similar story, where Chelsea have won two, drawn two and lost three of their last seven league games. As has been the case all season, it’s Frank Lampard’s defence that’s letting the side down. Chelsea have, astonishingly, kept just one clean sheet away from home in the league this season, although they have found the net themselves in 11 of their 13 matches.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, have only kept two clean sheets at the Vitality Stadium this term and, with five goals in their last two home games, backing Both Teams to Score looks a very good choice here.
Chelsea’s away form is a concern, and Bournemouth’s recent home results suggest they could potentially get a result here. With Chelsea scoring 2.07 goals and conceding 1.7 goals per away game, plus their 2-2 draw at Leicester at the start of February, we think backing a 2-2 correct score prediction is a good choice.
