Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich Match Preview

Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich: Saturday, 29 February 2020

German Bundesliga

Kick-off at 14:30 UK / 15:30 CET

Venue: PreZero Arena (Sinsheim).

League leaders travel to SInsheim aiming to continue their unbeaten run and keep RBL on a leash when they take on struggling Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon.

Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich Match Preview

A debut to remember for Lucas Ribeiro, who capped a frantic final few minutes with a late leveler as Hoffenheim battled back to rescue a point in a 1-1 draw at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Valuable point for achtzehn99 but looking at wider picture, it was their third Bundesliga game in a row without a win yet despite their continual missteps, Hoffenheim remains game for Europa League; currently at eight, tied with awakened Wolves, European Thursday nights are just two points away.

Alfred Schreuder's men are very unstable at PreZero Arena, capable of beating Bayer Leverkusen as well as losing 1-5 against FSV Mainz; games are rarely dull affairs, at least three goals are scored regularly but betting on an outcome… You'd have more luck by throwing a dice.

Miserable Tuesday night for the Londoners orchestrated by former Arsenal youngster Serge Gnabry who netted twice in four minutes to give Chelsea a Champions League mountain to climb as Bayern Munich stung the 10-man Blues 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Gnabry, once more helped by Polish hitman Robert Lewandowski lead the Bavarians to their eight victory in last nine outings, jealously preserving the top spot for themselves, keeping Leipzig's Red Bulls at one point away.

After narrow loss at Monchengladbach back In early days of December, Flick's Spartan army went on a four-game winning run away from Allianz Arena which is, surprisingly, their first streak of such kind this season as FCB's reign of terror undergo a revival; Bayern is once more outscoring everyone, with four or more goals occurring regularly in their latest games.

Ihlas Bebou, long absent Ishak Belfodil, Sargis Adamyan, Munas Dabbur and most importantly Andrej Kramaric are all set out to miss Bayern's arrival to Sinsheim.

On the other side, Kingsley Coman joined Leon Dajaku and Ivan Perisic in Bayern's injury report, with rumors swirling about Robert Lewandowski skipping an away day at Hoffenheim.

Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich Head-to-head (h2h)

Overall Stats (24 games): 1899 Hoffenheim 3 wins, 5 draws, Bayern München 16 wins.

Hoffenheim have 2-3-6 record at home versus FCB.

Achtzehn99 shocked Munich as they've snatched all the points from Allianz Arena in a 1-2 win in their last Bundesliga clash with Bayern getting their revenge few months later, knocking Hoffenheim out from DFB Pokal by winning 4-3 in a spectacular match.

Die Kraichgauer failed to keep a clean sheet in last five showdowns v the Bavarians, who did the same on last six occasions.

Both sides have scored in last five encounters, with the games also producing more than 2.5 goals.

Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich: Prediction

My first pick for this game is an obvious one. The Bavarians are undisputed rulers of German football, so good that they can field out a second string and still manage to finish in top four. Tuesday's night game was another run-of-the-mill outing for them, there's more than enough time for them to recover and get another three points to keep their foot ahead of RBL.

Bayern and Hoffenheim have their differences but they're the same in one occasion. Both of them truly start playing after the break. More goals were netted during second half of either side's games across the season way too many times for me not to consider it and put some money on it.
