Napoli vs Torino Match Preview

Napoli vs Torino: Saturday, 29 February 2020

Venue: Stadio San Paolo (Naples).

The Azzurri will be eager to continue their hot run when they take on out-of-form Granata on Saturday.

Napoli vs Torino: Match Preview

The Parthenopeans return to league action following their 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League. Rino Gattuso’s side continued their climb up the table with a 2-1 victory over lowly Brescia at the Mario Rigamonti.

They have won four of their last five league matches and moved into sixth place, ahead of AC Milan on goal difference, and nine points behind fourth-placed Atalanta. They will be eager to continue their hot run when they take on out-of-form Granata on Saturday.

Napoli have posted four wins, two draw and six defeats at Stadio San Paolo, scoring 1.25 goals per match on average and shipping 1.42 goals per bout. They have lost five of their last six home fixtures.

Torino’s home game against Parma was postponed because of an outbreak of the coronavirus in the northern part of the country. The Turin-based outfit are in dreadful run of form, having lost five Serie A matches on the trot with a combined goal difference of 2:17.

Moreno Longo’s men pulled off a decent performance at AC Milan last time out, but it wasn’t enough to avoid their thirteenth defeat of the season. Toro are currently fourteenth on the Serie A ladder, five points above the dropping zone.

The Granata have registered four wins, one draw and seven defeats on their travels this season, averaging 1.33 goals scored per game, whilst shipping 1.75 in return. They have lost three road games in a row.

Napoli vs Torino: Head-to-head (h2h)

Overall Stats (29 games): Napoli 12 Wins, Torino 5 Wins, 12 Draws.

The Azzurri have 5-8-1 home record against Torino.

Napoli have won six of their last nine head-to-head encounters.

Four of their last five outings at this venue had Over 2.5 goals.

The two sides played out a goalless draw earlier in the season.

Napoli vs Torino: Prediction

The Azzurri sport an underwhelming record at San Paolo and will be keen to transfer their away from into their home matches as they have won four road games in a row. I can see them winning this one. Odds are not fantastic, but it looks like a good combo material.

Without Dries Mertens in the lineup, Lorenzo Insigne and Jose Callejon are projected to flank Arkadiusz Milik, and I will back Napoli’s Captain to bag his sixth goal of the season at fantastic odds.
