Pep Guardiola risks losing a key part of his Manchester City coaching staff, now that the Arsenal job has become available.
Unai Emery was dismissed by the Gunners at the end of November and Freddie Ljungberg is still in caretaker charge at the Emirates Stadium.
Former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta, who is Guardiola's assistant at City, has been tipped to take the role in north London.
"You can be 45 years old and think that you're not ready, and [be] 35 [years old] and think that you're ready," Guardiola said about the possibility of losing Arteta, who is 37.
"Only he knows."
According to the Liverpool Echo, Arteta is also attracting the interest of another of his former clubs, Everton, as they search for a replacement for Marco Silva.
